“Looking forward to future games”

When Charlie invited me to his Discord server, he said it was “pretty active.” He wasn’t kidding! As a new player I’ve enjoyed the different discussions and meeting other people enthusiastic about the game. One cohesive theme definitely emerged though- Charlie is well loved! I finally got the nerve up to play in a one-shot yesterday after some encouragement from a member of the server. The theme was fun since we got to be the “bad guys” and Charlie gave us lots of money for supplies. We even got to pick some magic items! I had as much fun shopping and planning as I did playing. The one-shot moved fast! It felt like an hour but was really three. I think people who play this game are typically pretty smart. I think smart people are hard to manage. I think Charlie must be EXTRA-smart to be able to craft a story, build a world, create people to live in it and manage a bunch of players who never played together for three hours while getting everyone to the finish line (more or less) unscathed! Looking forward to future games and seeing what the future holds for my favorite “rules-as-fun” DM~
